Elon Musk (Elon Musk) said that he would not mind implanting a brain chip developed by his company Neuralink into one of his children.

When introducing Neuralink’s latest brain-computer chip progress on Wednesday, Musk said that if one of his children suffered a serious injury, such as a broken neck, he would safely implant the chip into their body.
“What I want to say is that, at least in my opinion, the current technological progress has made this matter less dangerous.” Musk said. He expects Neuralink to begin human trials within the next six months.
Neuralink’s brain-computer interface hopes to provide a way for paralyzed patients to communicate through thoughts. Its brain-computer chip has tiny wires embedded in electrodes that monitor brain activity and are designed to stimulate the brain electrically. The company plans to use a robot it is developing to embed the chip in a person’s skull.
Musk tweeted after the Neuralink conference: “We now believe that Neuralink devices are ready for humans, so the timing of use depends on the US Food and Drug Administration’s approval process.”
Moreover, Musk also said that when Neuralink’s equipment is ready, he plans to implant a brain chip himself. “You might be able to implant a Neuralink device right now, you just don’t know it yet. I mean hypothetical. In the future I will be involved in the demonstration myself,” he said.
Neuralink has yet to comment.
