OpenAI stated that ChatGPT and some other services failed, and the reasons for various service outages are being investigated.
Naijatechnews.com noticed that a major failure occurred in ChatGPT a few days ago, making the application unusable. OpenAI said this was due to periodic outages caused by abnormal traffic patterns arising from DDoS attacks.
OpenAI held its first developer conference DevDay on Tuesday, where the company released a new AI product, GPTs, that allows developers and companies to customize ChatGPT to meet their specific needs and services. The company also released a preview of its GPT-4 Turbo model, which features a 128k context window, which OpenAI says will allow it to accept the equivalent of 300 pages of a single text prompt. It will also be faster than current GPT-4 chatbots while reducing running costs to half.
Currently, ChatGPT has more than 100 million weekly active users. OpenAI said that more than 92% of Fortune 500 companies are using its platform, up from 80% in August, covering industries such as financial services, legal applications and education.
