Kia is about to launch a new compact car K4 to replace the previous Forte model. K4 will make its debut at the New York Auto Show on March 27. Judging from the official photos released today, the new car will have a completely new exterior design.
Although aesthetics vary from person to person, it is undeniable that the appearance of the K4 is more fashionable and dynamic than the Forte, and the improvement in interior space also dwarfs the latter. Judging from the pictures, the K4 continues some design elements of the previous K3 model, and the body size is also significantly larger than the Forte. The coupe-style fastback shape is paired with a traditional three-compartment trunk, making the appearance both dynamic and practical. The rear door handles are cleverly integrated into the C-pillar, and the triangular window area behind the C-pillar is also larger than that of the Forte, which all imply that the K4 provides a more spacious seating space.
In terms of interior, K4 also adopts the popular dual-screen design. At the same time, a large number of physical buttons are retained under the center console to facilitate users to quickly adjust the air-conditioning volume and commonly used functions such as navigation and media. Above the driver’s door handle, control buttons for seat heating and ventilation and steering wheel heating are integrated, and the passenger seat is also equipped with heated and ventilated seats.
Thanks to configurations such as a full LCD instrument panel and a head-up display, the cockpit atmosphere of the K4 is even more advanced. In addition, the new car also provides multiple USB ports, a 12V power socket and a driving mode switching button located on the steering wheel.
The model announced this time uses a turquoise interior called slate green. In the future, K4 will also be available in canyon brown, agate black and medium gray color options.
After being unveiled at the New York Auto Show, the K4 is expected to go on sale later this year.
