Samsung will address One UI 6.1 fingerprint problem arising on Galaxy S23

Samsung began rolling out the One UI 6.1 update for 9 older Galaxy flagships in late March 2024. After updating to One UI 6.1, users of the Galaxy S23 smartphones encountered a problem related to fingerprint scanning. Now, Samsung has confirmed to release a fix to this problem soon through a new update.

Users of Samsung Galaxy S23 are experiencing the fingerprint problem after the major One UI 6.1 update. Specifically, the animation for the fingerprint scanner did not appear when attempting to unlock their phones. This inconvenience led users to try unlocking their phones multiple times throughout the day.

Fortunately, Samsung is aware of this problem and the community moderator has revealed that the issue will be fixed soon through a new software update. Although the exact release timeline for this fix hasn’t been confirmed, it’s expected to be resolved alongside the April 2024 security patch.

Samsung had already started releasing the April 2023 security patch last month. So far, some flagship and mid-range smartphones like the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, A53 5G, A13, and A52 have received this update. The company is actively working to roll out this update to all eligible devices promptly.
