Thai Prime Minister Srita Thaweesin previously revealed in an interview that Tesla is willing to invest in building a factory in Thailand. Sritha said in an interview with a local media that Tesla representatives will arrive in Thailand to inspect the site for the factory.
Sritha visited Tesla’s Fremont, Calif., factory earlier this month, and after the visit, Thailand’s prime minister expressed a desire to see Tesla expand its presence in the country.
Tesla representatives will also take the opportunity to experience Thai culture and traditions, with the Prime Minister accompanying Tesla executives to the Loy Krathong Festival in Chiang Mai.
The Thai government seeks to attract investment and promote the development of specific industries including aerospace, digital and artificial intelligence. We have noted that Sritha met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk in September. During the meeting, the Thai Prime Minister and Musk discussed the technologies of Tesla and Space Exploration Technology Company.
