Vivaldi has rolled out a new update to its browser for Android. The new update tagged v5.0, brings the major new change such as the introduction of double tab bars which is borrowed from the desktop version of the app.
Managing Tab Bars
With two tab bars, users can now have one row for tab stacks and the second row for the tabs within. Stacks allow the user to group together a bunch of related tabs and then you can cycle between stacks instead of individual tabs. You can simply drag tabs on to one another to create a tab stack.
Users can also manage how the tabs appear. You can disable the X button to close the tab on all but the current tab. This way, the X button doesn’t take up valuable space on the background tabs. You can also choose to shrink all open tabs down to just their favicon size, which saves even more space.
Improved Supports For Bigger Screen
Vivaldi 5.0 also improves supports for Android tablets. Similar to the desktop browser, tablet users can now enable panels, which appear on the left and provide quick access to functions such as bookmarks, history, notes, etc. Speaking of notes, the feature now is also available on Android, so you can save notes within the browser for later access.
Dark mode for websites
And lastly, the update also brings dark mode for websites. When you toggle this feature, the browser automatically changes the site background color to black, making it easier on the eyes. This setting is saved on a per site basis.
