November 14 news, in the past few weeks, Samsung has released stable Android 13 updates overseas for the Galaxy A33 5G, Galaxy A53 5G, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 series, and now Samsung has started rolling out the stable Android 13 update for the Galaxy Tab S8 series.
Right now, only the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series 5G models in Europe are getting the stable Android 13 (One UI 5.0) update. The Galaxy Tab S8 firmware version is X706BXXU2BVK4, the Galaxy Tab S8+ firmware version is X806BXXU2BVK4, and the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra firmware version is X906BXXU2BVK4.
Users can check for new updates by navigating to Settings – Software Updates and clicking “Download and Install”. The update also brings the November 2022 security patch, which fixes numerous privacy and security vulnerabilities in Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The update brings faster performance, dozens of new software features, a revamped user interface design, and improved privacy and security .
IT House has learned that the Samsung Android 13 (One UI 5.0) update brings a revamped UI design with expanded palette capabilities, stacked widgets, larger app icons in the notification area, tweaked quick settings toggles, and Translucent effect for the notification area. Animations and transitions now look smoother.
The new software also brings per-app language settings for supported apps, improved built-in apps, and more accessibility settings. Samsung has added OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to the entire system. So camera and gallery apps can extract text from images. Even the Samsung keyboard can open the camera view to capture text from the live camera feed.
Samsung has renamed Bixby Routines to Modes & Routines. It’s a simpler version of Bixby Routines, with a few preset routines for most people. Both Bixby and Modes & Routines get new features and options. There are now more granular options for how each app displays notifications.
There are more emojis, animated emojis, and AR emojis now. There are also simplified privacy and security sections, a new connected devices menu, and new multitasking gestures. Search performance within the built-in app and One UI has been improved. The camera app gets a slightly simplified design.
Samsung DeX UI has been improved. Samsung Gallery, Samsung Internet, Samsung My Files, and other built-in apps all get a lot of new features. Memory expansion can now be customized or turned off. The built-in image and video editors have also been improved. A detailed Wi-Fi diagnostics menu is also supported.
